Culture and the City: Museums and Collections

In spite of the stereotype of a Sun and Beach destination, Palma offers many other facets. Culturally, it is rich in art galleries and museums – Pilar Miró Foundation, Joan March Foundation, Bartomeu March Foundation, Barceló Foundation, Casal Solleric, La Caixa Foundation in the Gran Hotel, Es Baluard Museum of Contemporary Art, among others.

Museums and collections

Given its proximity to the city, a stay in Playa de Palma enables one to discover the history of the Balearic Islands by visiting the most important symbols of its cultural heritage. You will be able to visit one of the oldest parts of the city of Palma or enjoy the island’s broad range of typical gastronomy.

The cultural activities are not restricted to the capital city with its numerous museums, monuments and events. You can discover Mallorcan traditions by visiting the villages in the interior of the island.
