Over recent years the sport of cycling has experienced a significant boom in Mallorca, on the one hand due to the increase in popularity on a local level and on the other due to the increasing number of European cyclists who organise trips to come here and practise their favourite sport whilst enjoying a mild winter on the island. Around 40,000 cyclists visit our island every year.

Several accommodation establishments in Playa de Palma are geared towards receiving teams of cyclists, and there are also shops specialising in rental, storage and repairs in the same area.

In spring in particular the local roads around Llucmajor and the eastern area of Palma are lined with the typical multi-coloured lines of European cyclists enjoying a bike ride in a rural atmosphere. The local gastronomy helps them to regain strength.
